Hosting the first No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup since 2010, the top-ranked Hutchinson Community College football team rallied from a 14-point second-quarter deficit to topple No. 2 Iowa Western 42-28 on Saturday at Gowans Stadium.
The Blue Dragons complete the regular season undefeated at 10-0 for the second-straight season. The announcement for the NJCAA National Semifinals will be on Monday, November 20. Iowa Western is 10-1. No. 3 Kilgore College defeated New Mexico Military in overtime on Saturday. No. 4 Copiah-Lincoln defeated Northwest Mississippi 48-14 on Saturday.
Kilgore College will now play No. 12 Navarro College in the SWJCFC Championship on Saturday, November 18th. Navarro College defeated No. 7 ranked Trinity Valley 30-29 in the SWJCFC semifinal on Saturday.
Copiah-Lincoln will now play No. 8 ranked East Mississippi on Saturday, November 18th in the MACCC Championship in Wesson, Mississippi. East Mississippi defeated No. 6 ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast 33 to 21 to advance to the Championship game.
No. 5 Snow College is still very much in the playoff picture as the Badgers defeated Monroe College 32-13 on Saturday.
Today's NJCAA poll will be released around 3pm with the final poll coming out on November 18th to determine the top four playoff teams for 2023.
