
Somebody's buying it... but who?
Indiana farmland prices are hitting record highs this year, even though crop prices are extremely low. The average price of top-quality farm ground hit $14,826 dollars an acre.

That's a three percent increase from just one year ago. This is interesting. Purdue University did the math, and farmland rent per bushel of corn was $1.32. The cash price for corn is running around four dollars.
This study didn't specify if it was farmers or investors that was buying the farmland.
