THOMAS COUNTY — An 18-year-old was hospitalized with suspected serious injuries after a crash in Thomas County just before 10 a.m. on Friday morning.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1997 Dodge pickup was eastbound on County Road E just east of U.S. 83, and a 2018 Chevrolet pickup was westbound on County Road E when the two vehicles collided for an undetermined reason.

The driver of the Dodge — Christian J. Koch, , 18, Oakley — was transported to Via Christi in Wichita for suspected serious injuries. The driver of the Chevy — Kristy R. Eberle, 42, Oakley — was transported to Via Christi. The KHP, however, reported she had no apparent injuries.

Koch was unrestrained, the KHP reported, noting Eberle was wearing a seat belt.
