UPDATE: Hutchinson man victim of Sunday night hit and run

UPDATE: Hutchinson Police Department (HPD) on May 1, revealed more details on a hit-and-run accident that occurred April 30.

At 8:38 p.m., HPD, along with the Hutchinson Fire Department and Reno County EMS, were dispatched to the intersection of Sherman Ave and Main Street for a report of a vehicle striking a bicyclist and leaving the scene.

Officers arrived on scene and located the bicyclist, Ralph Mendoza, 47, Hutchinson, in the street with multiple injuries.

Mendoza was transported to the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center by Reno County EMS for further treatment.

The crash is being investigated by the Hutchinson Police Department Traffic Unit and remains an open investigation.

Hutchinson Police Department asks for anyone with any information regarding the crash to contact Traffic Officer Hammond or Traffic Officer Boudreaux at (620) 694-2854.

"The Traffic Bureau will release additional information once the investigation is completed," Hutchinson Police Captain Dayton Gates said.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Hutchinson man was taken to a hospital Sunday night after he was hit by a vehicle.

According to the Hutchinson Police Bulletin, 47-year-old Ralph Mendoza of 425 William Street was struck by an unknown silver pickup truck while riding his bike. The call came in at 8:38 p.m. Sunday.

Mendoza was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained in the Hit & Run.

The case is still under investigation.
