Jerry C. Burch, 66, was born February 4, 1959 to Donald and Glenna Mae Burch. He married his high school sweetheart Lori K. Conner on March 3, 1979 in Sayre, OK. They welcomed two children, Todd C Burch and Brooke A Scott.
Jerry started his adult life in the oil fields of Oklahoma and Texas. He later found a love for academia and began his career in public education in the late 1980s. He started out as a science teacher and soon found his calling in administration. First as principal then later as a superintendent. He touched many lives as an educator, working diligently to give each student the tools and resources to be their best self.
Growing up on the family farm he learned an incredible work ethic from his parents that he passed on to his family. When he wasn’t in the classroom, on the field or chasing grandkids he could always be found with a new kitchen gadget mixing up some new concoction.
His life revolved around his kids, family and community. Though he has held many roles, his most coveted title was Papi. His grandchildren were everything to him and he never missed a phone call, a FaceTime or event that involved his grandkids. In a wold full of uncertainty, they could always count on Papi to be there for them.
His family takes comfort in knowing that his legacy will continue to live on through his kindness he showed to all.
He was proceeded in death by his father Donald, mother Glenna Mae, brother Roy Don, father in law Paul Conner, sister in law Lisa Drendel, brother in law Cary Hall.
He is survived by his wife Lori of Edmond, OK., son Todd Burch (Niki) of Harbor Springs, MI., daughter Brooke Scott (Josh) of Hutchinson, KS. Grandchildren Jordan Dawson (Hunter), Madeleine, Sydney, Gabriel, Josie Burch, Caleb and Ethan Scott and great grandson Callahan Dawson. Mother in law Karen Conner Edmond, OK, brothers Joe Burch (Marilyn) Sayre, OK, Royce Lee Burch (Jennifer) Shawnee, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews.
