Position: Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
Status: Full-Time & Part-Time
Shift: 1st and 3rd Shift
Salary Range: $16-$23.75 Hourly
Job Summary
The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) works under the supervision of a licensed nurse and provides personal care assistance and service to residents as outlined in the plan of care.
All services are provided in a manner that promotes privacy, dignity, safety and comfort, while considering each resident's rights and preferences.
It is essential that the Certified Nurse Aide be creative, patient and flexible in providing personalized services to meet each resident's needs.
Responsibilities for Resident Care
The Certified Nurse Aide will assist with implementing the resident's plan of care, including but not limited to the following tasks and duties:
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Conduct continuous monitoring of residents to be proactive in meeting residents' needs.
- Answer call lights promptly.
- Complete documentation of tasks performed and other documentation according to The Wesley's policies and procedures.
- Document vital signs, meal percentages, weights and other information as needed.
- Assist residents with transfers.
- Promote ambulation and exercise.
- Make beds and change bedding as needed for resident comfort and hygiene.
- Assist with meal setup as required for each individual resident.
- Provide assistance with eating as needed.
- Distribute and assist with snacks.
- Document resident snack consumption.
- Assist with resident activities, including setup and transporting residents to and from activities.
- Support and foster positive relationships with residents, families and visitors.
- Provide input into resident assessments and the care planning process by sharing ideas with the charge nurse and supervisory staff.
- Report behavioral or physical changes in residents' condition to the charge nurse or supervisory staff.
- Report problems, concerns and grievances involving residents and/or other parties to the charge nurse or supervisory staff.
- Work in compliance with The Wesley's infection control policies at all times.
- Demonstrate patience and a calm demeanor with residents regardless of disruptive, combative, aggressive or violent behaviors.
Qualifications
- Valid Kansas CNA certification required.
- Experience in adult care and services helpful.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with a team.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds unassisted.
