Local blood drives scheduled

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Red Cross will hold three blood drives in Reno County in June.

Blood drives in Hutchinson will be held June 4th at Advance America at 921 E 4th Suite B from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. and June 8th from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Center Amish Mennonite Church at 7611 W. Morgan Avenue.

A third blood drive is scheduled for June 9th at the Nickerson Community Center at 11 N. Nickerson street in Nickerson from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Those wanting to donate can download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit  RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). 

 A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood

High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
