HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The history department at Hutchinson Community College will welcome the public for an evening of history and film next week during its third annual History Community Movie Night.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Justice Theater of the Shears Technology Building on the HutchCC campus.
Hosted by the college’s history faculty, this year’s featured film is Dunkirk, the historical war drama directed by Christopher Nolan. The film chronicles the evacuation of Allied soldiers stranded on the beaches of France during the early stages of World War II, offering a gripping portrayal of one of the conflict’s most pivotal moments.
Organizers say the annual event is designed to engage the community with history in an accessible and interactive way, using film as a lens to explore significant global events.
The movie night is free and open to the public. Attendees will also be provided with complimentary pizza and drinks.
Community members are encouraged to attend and take part in the educational and social experience.
