Armed robbery: Kan. man took $800 cash from Walgreens

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating  a suspect on multiple charges after a reported robbery.

Just before 10p.m. Sunday, a man walked into the Walgreens at 333 W. 13th Street N in Wichita and told the clerk to put the money in a bag and no one would get hurt, according to Officer Chad Ditch.

The suspect left with over $800 in cash. Officers arrived on the scene and watched surveillance video of the robbery. An officer from Patrol North was able to identify the suspect as 20-year-old Michael Heath from his experience and being in tune with the citizens on his beat.

The investigation resulted in police issuing a felony pick up for the arrest of Heath for aggravated robbery.

On Monday, a Patrol North Officer was actively patrolling the area of 700 N. Broadway and observed Heath walking down the street. The officer was aware of the felony pick up and arrested him. He is being held on requested charges of Aggravated Robbery and drug possession, according to online jail records.
