Battle of the Badges close to donation pace

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — According to Tiffany Davison with the American Red Cross, the Hutchinson community continues to do well in the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.

As of Tuesday night, Davison provided Hutch Post the following numbers:

Votes:

Fire -  105

Law -  80

Saturday – goal 27 units, collected 35 units

Monday – goal 120 units, collected 132 units

Tuesday - goal 100 units, collected 82 units

Wednesday – goal 64 units, 73 of 102 appointments filled

There are still open appointments for Wednesday.

Wednesday there will be fresh cinnamon rolls in the morning along with chicken and noodles for lunch.

Wednesday is the last day open 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church 201 E Sherman, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

The Red Cross and the National Football League (NFL) are partnering this January, during National Blood Donor Month, to urge individuals to give blood or platelets and help tackle the emergency blood shortage. Those who come to give blood, platelets or plasma in January will automatically be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.
