🏀 WBB: Dragons roll in return

GOODLAND, Kan. — Hutchinson (12-4, 6-4) jumped out to a 23-7 advantage at Northwest Tech (5-9, 1-8) Wednesday night. 

The Dragons returned to action for the first time since Dec. 12 and played lights out on the road for the first time this season. 

The Dragons are now 2-4 on the road. 

Hutchinson held the Mavs to 16.7% shooting (2 of 12) in the first 10 minutes.

Mya Williams dropped 13 of her total 16 in the first half of action. She finished 4 of 8 from distance. The Dragons hit 9 of 22 three-point attempts (40.9%) and shot 58.8% from the floor.

Hutchinson outrebounded NW Tech 38-26.

The Dragons scored 21 points on 10 offensive rebounds. Meanwhile, the Mavs mustered only four second-chance points.

Three Dragon starters (Mya Williams 16, Monae Duffy 16 and Journey Armstead 15) scored in double figures.

Kali Howard snagged nine rebounds and scored seven points.

Mariam Sanogo provided 14 points off the bench to lead NW Tech in scoring.
