DOUGLAS COUNTY—Police have identified a woman who died in an accident just after 7p.m. Monday in Douglas County.
Lawrence police reported a vehicle driven by 75-year-old Bonnie Susan Hernandez of Lawrence was eastbound in the 1500 block of east 23rd Street, just west of 23rd and Harper. The vehicle crossed into the westbound lanes and struck an SUV nearly head-on.
Investigators believe Hernandez suffered a medical emergency just before the crash. Those in the SUV suffered minor injuries, but did not go to the hospital.
