Police seize homemade fireworks, explosives from Kansas home

SALINE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after an investigation led to a call for the bomb squad.

On Tuesday, police and fire investigators executed a search warrant a a home in  Salina, according to a media release.

During the search, police seized numerous chemicals and devices suspected of being homemade fireworks and explosives.

Those devices and chemicals were removed from the scene by Explosive Ordinance Disposal technicians and disposed of. The State Fire Marshal, Riley County Police Department Explosive Ordinance Disposal and Salina FIre Department HazMat assisted in carrying out the operation.

Police arrested 33-year-old Christopher Leger of Salina at the scene.

Leger was booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of Arson. He is also suspected of damaging an unoccupied residence by fire or explosion, associated with separate incidents.
