HUTCHINSON, Kan. — An arm of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce is teaming up with two Hutchinson elementary schools to launch a local career exploration program for sixth grade students. Greater Hutch has started the Career Quest program, which is being implemented at both Wiley and McCandless elementary schools.

Students will explore careers in finance, technology, professional services, health care, manufacturing, trades, energy, public service, agriculture and food processing in this first year of the program. Reno Rising investors will help fund the program along with other workforce development programs supported by the Chamber.

The Chamber is also looking for businesses that would become a funding partner for the program or who would like to host a group of 6-8 students in 2022 for a two-hour career exploration visit. If so, you can contact Lacie Janzen at 620-662-3391. Dates are available in January-April for Career Quest visits.
