
JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.
Just before 1:30 a.m. April 29, a Sheriff’s deputy conducted a welfare check on a Chevy Avalanche parked near Buck’s Grove Cemetery in the area of K-16 Highway and B Road, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
As a result of the investigation, the driver, 67-year-old Michael Lee Wheeler of Louisville, was taken into custody.
Wheeler was transported to the Jackson County Jail and booked on the requested charges of distribution of an opiate, opium, narcotic, or certain stimulant (3.5 to less than 100 grams); possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia for illegal use; no drug tax stamp; interference with law enforcement; concealing, altering, or destroying evidence in a felony case; possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic, or certain stimulant; possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use in the human body.
