
Brenda Dee Wilson, 77, died January 29, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born January 30, 1947, in Aurora, IL, to David H. and Patricia (Koralek) Richardson.
Dee graduated from Nickerson High School in 1965 and Sidney’s Hairdressing College. She worked as a cosmetologist in addition to driving a school bus for Nickerson USD 309 for 10 years. Dee also worked as a secretary in the Community Corrections office in Hutchinson for many years until she retired.
Dee loved her family first and foremost, most importantly her grandchildren. She also loved to read, her flower garden (especially irises), and baking. Dee was also very community minded and volunteered at Christian Soup Ministry, Hospice House, Meals on Wheels, and the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center. She also served on the boards of the NAACP and the Emancipation Day committee.
On December 27, 1965, Dee married Larry V. Wilson in Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church. He survives.
Also surviving are: her children, Christine Wilson of Hutchinson, Patrick Wilson (Rosann) of Hutchinson, Sarah Wilson of Wichita; grandchildren, Matthew Palacios of Wichita, Chase Palacios (Emily) of Hutchinson, Laryssa Stahl (Nate) of Hutchinson, Remington Wilson and Josphine Wilson of Hutchinson; niece, Kelly Richardson-McEntire (James) of Lee’s Summit, MO; and sister-of-the-heart, Sally Wydick (David) of Nevada, MO.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, J. D. Richardson and his wife Linda; and nephew, Jon Richardson.
Celebration of Life will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Larry and Dee’s home, 3810 N. Wilson Rd., Hutchinson. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place.
