AD ASTRA VIRTUAL ACADEMY
We are thrilled to announce that one of our very own Ad Astra Academies students, Abby Cox, has taken first place in both the Nonfiction and Art categories in the High School Division of the Kansas Authors Club Youth Contest! Her nonfiction piece, “What’s Left of Him and Me,” and her artwork, “Angel,” were judged the best in their categories—an outstanding achievement.

This contest, open to students in grades 3–12 across Kansas, invites submissions in Poetry, Fiction, Nonfiction, and (as of 2025) Art. Entrants create original, unpublished work—no co-authors, no AI-assisted pieces—and are judged by skilled panels with the highest awards going to those whose work meets excellence in creativity, technique, and expression.
We could not be more proud of her dedication and talent. Achieving first place in one category is a major success—winning in two is a testament to her hard work, artistic vision, and passion.

Please join us in celebrating this terrific accomplishment! We look forward to seeing what she does next, and hope this inspires all our students to take creative risks, to write boldly, and to express themselves through any medium they choose.
