HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Following the annual Click It or Ticket campaign the Hutchinson Police Department decided to conduct a nighttime seat belt enforcement operation Monday evening.
Between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM officers wrote 64 safety belt citations, three child restraint citations, and five other citations. The enforcement was supported by a grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The police department and the Reno County Sheriff's Department issued nearly 280 seat belt citations during the Click It or Ticket campaign held May 21st through the 31st.
