HARVEY COUNTY —A Kansas man was injured in an accident just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Harvey County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by Joshua B. Burkholder, 41, Hays, was northbound on Interstate 135 just north of Kansas 196.
The car moved to the left lane to avoid traffic backed up due to an oversized load stopped. The Ford rear-ended a 2015 GMC Terrain driven by Kandace L Broussard, 21, Lincoln, Nebraska.
EMS transported Burkholder, Broussard and a passenger in the SUV identified as Jenefer M. Bromm, 49, Lincoln, Nebraska, to Wesley Medical Center. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
A juvenile was present in the Ford at the time of the accident; juvenile record is protected data, according to the KHP.
