HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Career Quest is underway for its second full year.
The workforce program coordinated by Greater Hutch provides career exploration opportunities for Reno County 6th grade students throughout the school year in the form of onsite business tours for individual schools and mega tour days for multiple schools to explore an industry sector.
"Today is another education day," Lauren Storm, Workforce Program Coordinator for Greater Hutch told the Hutchinson City Council at their meeting on Tuesday. "Sixth graders in Reno County explore major industry sectors. Today, they are exploring HutchCC, HCTEA and HutchCC Fire Science to learn about educational and training opportunities for careers in our community."
Buhler USD 313 completed their experience on Tuesday Oct. 10th, Nickerson-South Hutchinson USD 309, Fairfield USD 310, Pretty Prairie USD 311, Haven USD 312, Central Christian School, and Holy Cross Grade School explored on Tuesday, Oct. 17 and USD 308 is scheduled for Wednesday Oct. 18.
Upcoming mega tour days include Manufacturing Day during the Manufacturing Expo at the Kansas State Fairgrounds on Wednesday Nov. 8, Healthcare Days in Feb. of 2024 and Public Service Day in April and Agri-Business Day in May.
