HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson USD 308 and the Hutchinson Community College Automotive Technology Program will host a special event to provide automotive inspections to frontline workers at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center on Thursday, October 28.

“The event is a Community Service benefit to our frontline staff by the USD 308 and HCC Automotive Technologies Program.  Due to the pandemic, the hours our staff put in doesn't allow them a lot of time to take care of routine maintenance or inspection of their vehicles,” Cory Griffiths, Safety Officer for Hutchinson Regional Medical Center said.

The event will take place in two sessions, one in the morning from 8:30 a.m. till 10:30 a.m., and an afternoon session from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The free inspections will take place at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Annex, and be performed by students of the USD 308 and Hutchinson Community College Automotive Technology Program. During the inspections students will check windshields, mirrors, tail lights, engine oil, tires, and other important aspects of automotive upkeep. HRMC staff then will be provided an inspection sheet indicating areas of concern that they can use to schedule repairs with their automotive service provider.

“This is a unique opportunity for USD 308, Hutchinson Community College and Hutchinson Regional Medical Center to collaborate together for a fun event! Our students will be able to put the skills learned in the program to work while offering auto service checks to Hutchinson Regional Medical center frontline workers.” Travis Riebel, Director of Hutchinson Career & Technical Academy said..
