Veda Annette Sutphin, 73, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. She was born June 9, 1951 in Wyoming, the daughter of Ralph and Carol (Peebus) Higginbotham Sr.
Veda was a member of Hutch Rec where she went 3 days a week to visit friends. Even though Veda didn’t have much, she was always very generous and provided for others. She was an amazing crafter. She enjoyed crocheting and doing plastic canvas needle point.
Veda is preceded by her parents and sister, Julia Long.
She is survived by her children, Dorothy Crouse, Robert Crouse, Fredrick Crouse and Jannette Thoman; grandchildren, Chris (Ashley) Thoman, Destiny (Megan) Petz and Eric Petz; five brothers and three sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Hutchinson Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
