NICKERSON, Kan. — Reno County Emergency Management requested help from hazmat teams from Reno County and Sedgwick County for a train leak along K-96 on Feb. 22.
At around 9:02 p.m. Wednesday, the railway company called from near Nickerson to report the leak.
Reno County Fire District # 3 was paged. They mobilized en route with an engine, two brush trucks, and a command vehicle.
Reno County Emergency Management also responded with two command vehicles.
Additionally, Reno County Emergency Management requested a hazmat team from Hutchinson and Sedgwick County late Wednesday night.
Crews left the scene of the incident shortly after 1 a.m. No other dangers were prevalent to the surrounding area.
According to Reno County Emergency Management, it is unknown what caused the leak.
