
HUTCHINSON, Kan.— This week is Plant Week at the Hutchinson Public Library.
Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to noon is an Author Talk with Tommy Clarkson on The Medicinal Jungle in the Hutchinson Public Library Auditorium. Clarkson is a former Hutchinson resident and world traveler. During his time in Hutchinson he was a city commissioner, and later, mayor. He spent three years in the military and government service in Southeast Asia, and Iraq. After which, he continued his travels before making Ola Brisa Gardens in Manzanillo, Mexico his home.
Clarkson is looking forward to returning to his home state of Kansas and sharing his 4 newest books, including "The Medicinal Jungle", with his former Hutchinson community.
Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. is a Kansas Native Plants Lunch & Learn in the Hutchinson Public Library Auditorium. Bring your lunch and enjoy a lunch hour discussion about Kansas native plants. Pamela Paulson, from K-State Research and Extension Reno County will talk about Kansas native plants and answer any questions you may have about Kansas plants.
The library also has plant themed adult coloring pages, a Kansas plants and gardening display in the Kansas Room, and more.
