LYONS, Kan. — A Lyons man was injured at a high school football game last week and a GoFundMe has been set up to help.
Manuel Gomez, a contributor to the local newspaper, was injured on the sidelines of Friday night's High School football game between Haven and Lyons in Lyons.
While gathering stats and photos, a group tackle came out of bounds and Manuel was caught up in the tackle and injured. After being cared for by Lyons High School Staff, Rice County EMS took over and transported Manuel to the hospital.
According to page organizer Cody Luck, X-rays showed he suffered a broken tibia and fibula.
Over $2900 has been raised so far with 32 donations.
