NICKERSON, Kan. — Good news for motorists who use Nickerson Road: Reno County Public Works announced that the bridge over the Arkansas River will be finished and the road opened on Friday.
The project was finished in just over a year at a cost of just under $3 million. The other major bridge project in the county is the 43rd Avenue bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad. That project is nearing completion. The bridge is important to area residents and the Buhler school district as it provides more access to residents in the area as well as Prairie Hills Middle School.
