HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Chipola showed that defense can win games as they shut down a hot shooting Shelton State team in the last game of the evening Wednesday at the NJCAA National Tournament. The final score 73-60.
Chipola held Shelton State to just 18 of 65 and 28% shooting as they kept the the team from Alabama at arms length most of the second half.
Chipola got 19 points from Carlos Lemus and another 16 from Jaeden Zachery. Chipola plays in the quarter finals against the other Florida team Indian River on Thursday.
