Newton Substance Abuse Board looking for grant applicants

NEWTON, Kan. — The Newton Substance Abuse Board is seeking applications for grants to fund programs or services whose principal purpose is:

1. Alcoholism and drug abuse prevention and education.
2. Alcohol and drug detoxification.
3. Intervention in alcohol and drug abuse.
4. Treatment of alcoholism or drug abuse.

The application is available for download here. Submission deadline is July 15. Funds will be disbursed Aug. 5.

Funding for the Substance Abuse Board comes from liquor tax revenues allocated through the State’s local alcoholic liquor fund.
