RENO COUNTY — According to a post from Reno County Emergency Management, on Saturday, over 50 firefighters, representing all 8 rural fire districts, Hutchinson Fire Department, and the Kansas Forest Service participated in drip torch training.
Those firefighters conducted small controlled burns North of Pretty Prairie, practicing their drip torch techniques. The firefighters use this skill to help control wildfires.
The county asked citizens to thank your firefighters and their families who gave up their Saturday to participate in this training. Their dedication and skills will help keep Reno County safe during the impending fire season.
