SEDGWICK COUNTY —A woman arrested after a shooting at vandals who three eggs at her home from a moving vehicle made her first court appearance Thursday.
Eryicia Burns,21, was charged with criminal discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle and four counts of aggravated assault, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
Just after 9:30. p.m. Sunday, police responded to report of a possible drive-by shooting at a home in the 5300 Block of North Lyce Street, according to a media release from Bel Aire Police.
Officers located and collected several spent shell casings from the area and interviewed two individuals who initially believed to be victims.
The individuals told police that a group of five females including some of whom were under the age of 18, had arrived at the residence and egged the house. The group then fled in a White Jeep and several rounds from a gun were discharged toward them.
During the follow up investigation, police located the Jeep and observed bullet holes indicated the vehicle was had been struck by gunfire. The occupants of the Jeep had been shot at by a person from the house they egged.
Police applied for and obtained a search warrant for the home that was egged. Officers served the warrant and detained two adult women including 21-year-old Erycia Burns, according to online jail records. The women were arrested on requested charges of aggravated assault, criminal discharge of a firearm, criminal damage to property, reckless child endangerment, destruction of evidence and interference with law enforcement. Burns met the requirement of a $75,000 bond and is no longer in custody, according to online jail records.
