SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The city of South Hutchinson has released an updated map for the upcoming 2nd Annual Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 1st.
Dark Blue: Parking Areas
You are welcome to park in the vacant lot north of Wichita Tractor on Main St., as well as the front and rear areas of the Hutchinson Kennel Club on Washington. You may also park on the side of the access road to the grain elevator off of Blanchard until you get to the "red area" after the old railroad track crossing.
Weather permitting, the city encourages spectators to park out in the field designated by the light blue rectangle. It will be a fantastic area to park your truck and have the fireworks going off right in front of you.
Do not drive or park in the field immediately south of Avenue D. You are welcome to park on residential streets and along Washington but, please be respectful of the neighbors.
Green: The grass area west of the community center was sparsely populated last year. It is a great area to bring chairs, blankets, coolers and watch the show. Hang out while the kids play in the bounce houses until sun down.
Yellow Arrows: represent one-way direction of traffic.
Last year, traffic cleared out after the show in literally 10 minutes. The community center bathrooms will be open. And there will be many super clean portable toilets and hand washing stations generously provided for free by Nisly Brothers Trash Services.
If you have any questions, please contact South Hutchinson City Hall.
