Jeanetta Yvonne Gatewood was born January 22, 2015 at 2:51 a.m. She weighted 6 pounds 3 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long in Manhattan, Riley County, Kansas. My whole world brightened up the day she was born. I knew Jeanetta was a really good gift of wonderful life from God. She was very smart and beautiful. I know her educational level was much higher than that of an 8 year old because she said she wanted an anomaly book. She dreamed of being a veterinarian. She had a love for all animals. She was no regular 8 year old. Her favorite color was brown. I know she is in heaven being a kid with her brother and my family. She is smiling at me saying, "I am here for you Mom," I know God has a reason for taking her home. Jeanetta died on May 8, 2023 in Wichita, Sedgwick, Kansas. Jeanetta, her brother and my family are my guardian angels. She will be forever loved and missed. I love you Gabbas. love your mom, Brandy Van Osdel.
She was preceded in death by her brother Donovan John (DJ) Gatewood, grandfather Benny Eugene Van Osdel, great grandparents and great aunts.
Jeanetta is survived by mother Brandy Van Osdel, sister Amiah Gatewood, grandmother Yvonne Scott and husband, aunt Emily Duchateau and husband, uncle William Van Osdel, great aunt Ardith Arneal and husband.
