SALINE COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect for an alleged bomb threat.

Just after 4p.m. Thursday, Salina Police Department dispatch received a call from a subject identified as 33-year-old Brandon Skaggs of DeSoto, Mo, reporting a bomb was placed at Blue Beacon Truck Wash, 2303 N. 9th, according to Saline Police Captain James Feldman.

The business was contacted and alerted to the threat. Employees advised there had been a suspicious male who entered the business and made a comment about terrorism.

The subject had entered the pump room of the business and turned off the pump breakers before fleeing the business. The business was evacuated and the business was searched. No devices were found. An attempt to locate was put out to surrounding areas.

A Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper located the suspect vehicle eastbound on Interstate 70 near the Chapman exit in Dickinson County and took Skaggs into custody.

With the assistance of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, it was confirmed Skaggs was the subject who had made the threat. Skaggs was transported back to Salina where he was booked into the Saline County Jail and is being held on requested charges of Criminal Threat and Trespassing.
