HUTCHINSON, Kan. — No. 7 Hutchinson (15-1, 7-1) used a five-minute spurt with seven minutes to play to pull away from Northwest Tech (5-10, 2-7) for good Wednesday night.
The Dragons jumped out to an eight-point advantage with six minutes gone, but the Mavs tied the game with 7:24 before intermission.
The Dragon lead would seesaw back and forth until a 15-4 run late in the second half put Hutchinson on top for good.
Hutchinson used a five-minute span to double its lead to 92-70.
The Dragons were led by Angelo Stuart's 25 points. Kaimen Lennox added 18.
Kobe Cambell (12) and Cecil Lee (11) also scored in double digits.

Five Mavericks scored in double figures, led by Timothy Moore's 19.
Hutchinson got 54 bench points and scored 38 points off turnovers.
