Glen LeRoy Horine, 75 of Wichita, passed away January 4, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis.  He was born April 24, 1948, in Great Bend to L. LeRoy and Irene Meserole Horine. Glen’s father, LeRoy, married Teresa Schamaun and together, with Irene, raised Glen.  

Glen graduated from Junction City High School.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning a purple heart after he was wounded during combat.  He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 6957.  He was an avid collector and enjoyed fishing with family and friends.  He also loved hot rods, especially his 1956 Chevy.  

On July 8, 1967, he married Sharon Lee, in Wichita.  Glen is survived by: his wife of over 56 years, Sharon of Wichita; daughter, Kelly Lackey (Greg) of Hutchinson; son, Sean Horine of Wichita; grandchildren, Kelsey Horine, Tanner Lackey (Lindsey), all of Wichita, Bryar Lackey of Hutchinson, Jordan Horine of Wichita, Brandon Horine, US Navy, Pensacola, FL: siblings, Sherry Mohesky of Kechi, Kay Suchy of Great Bend, LuAnn Fisher (Chris) of Mount Hope, Brenda Keenan (Raymond) of Pawnee Rock, Dean Horine of Halstead, Rick Horine of Wichita, and Lonnie Nelson of Great Bend. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Teresa Horine. 

A private family celebration will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Kansas Honor Flight, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
