
Pearl Lorraine Tedford, 99, died November 13, 2024, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born August 30, 1925, in Minneola, to Roy Bryce and Vera Rose (Ward) Tedford.
Pearl graduated from Minneola High School and Salt City Business College, Hutchinson. She worked in the office for the Minneola CO-OP for a few years and later moved to Hutchinson where she worked at Farmarco for many years before eventually retiring.
One of Pearl’s greatest passions was traveling and exploring the world. In her many travels, she visited all seven continents and went on many cruises and bus tours with friends. Another thing Pearl was passionate about was her family. She frequently traveled to graduations, weddings, and other special life events. She organized and hosted many family get-togethers, including family reunions at Ashland and birthday parties for her numerous nieces and nephews in her basement. Many knew her as “Aunt Pearl”, and when visiting Aunt Pearl’s house could expect to be entertained with exotic souvenirs from around the world and exciting games of Rummikub or dominoes.
Pearl volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a member of a camera club where she would share her extensive collection of slides amassed on her travels. Pearl was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, where she enjoyed being a greeter and participating and being an officer in the women’s group.
Pearl is survived by: nieces and nephews; Larry (Suzanne) Kabelac of Lake Bay, WA; Richard (Terill) Kabelac of Federal Way, WA; Ronald (Becki) Kabelac of Port Orchard, WA; Lynda (Bill) Linder of Lindsborg, KS; Sandra (Gary) Craft of Wichita, KS; Robert Tedford of Columbia, SC; Dennis (Brenda) Tedford of Brownfield, TX; Joan (Fred) Bloder of San Marcos, TX; Allan (Sandra) Holt of Mountain Home, AR; Arlan Holt of Mountain Home, AR; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; siblings, Fern Kabelac, Lynn Tedford, Faye Holt; nephews, Kenneth Holt, Landy Tedford, Jerry Kabelac; and niece, Cheryl Schiermeier.
Memorial service will be held in Spring of 2025 and will be announced at a later date. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, at Elliott Mortuary.
