CALDWELL COUNTY—Canadian Pacific-Kansas City cleared the railroad crossing on Route A at Railroad Street in Braymer early Tuesday following the train derailment, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A preliminary investigation indicates a CPKC train was westbound when nine rail cars derailed. All cars remained upright and were not breached. There were no injuries and no threat to public safety or the environment, according to the MSHP. Police initially evacuated downtown Braymer, located approximately 70 miles northeast of Kansas City, as a precaution. Officials lifted the original evacuation order Monday evening.
