Gloria L. Roe, 91, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2023, at McPherson Hospital following a brief illness.
Gloria was born on September 2, 1931, in Green, KS. In 1960, the young family moved to McPherson, KS. She worked for several area businesses as a bookkeeper and ended her career as an associate with Walmart when they opened a new store in McPherson.
Gloria valued that she was able to live her entire life independently and “Independent” she was! She will be remembered by many for the pastries and cookies that she baked almost daily and shared with everyone.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Richard) Luthi of McPherson, KS; former daughter-in-law, Becky Roe, of Greenville, MS; seven grandchildren, Tennille (Curtis) Finklea, Wendy Roe Bell, Greg Roe, Shannon (Jennifer) Luthi, Brandon Luthi (Sherry Peterson), Kelli (Tor) Farley, and Tennille (Trey) Hilyard; and 16 great-grandchildren. She also held a very special place in her heart for Claire Wiens, whom she always considered one of her own grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Danny Roe, one brother, and one sister.
As per Gloria’s request, no services are planned.
