Deanna Jean Zeitlow, 86, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, surrounded by family at The Cedars, McPherson.
Deanna was born on June 15, 1938, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Lloyd Harry and Dorothea Mae (Crowther) White. She graduated from Durham High School and received a degree in Home Economics from Kansas State University in 1960. On December 27, 1960, Deanna was united in marriage to Leonard Eugene Zeitlow in Canton, KS. This union was blessed with two sons, Greg and Doug.
In her earlier career, she taught Home Economics at Minneapolis High School and later was the office manager at Zeitlow Distributing. Deanna was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Leonard; two sons, Greg (Pat) Zeitlow of Boonville, MO and Doug (Jeanne) Zeitlow of McPherson, KS; a brother, Dennis White of Gypsum, KS; four grandchildren, Andrew (Ellery) Zeitlow, Matthew Zeitlow, Kaylee Zeitlow, and Nicholas Zeitlow; a great-granddaughter, Winter Zeitlow; and many extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM, Thursday, September 19, at the McPherson Cemetery with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM, Thursday, at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Andrew Conard officiating.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Deanna Zeitlow’s Crohn’s Patient’s Assistance Fund or Shriners Hospitals for Children in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
