JACKSON COUNTY —A 2-year-old injured in a pedestrian accident over the weekend died.
The accident occurred just after 2p.m. Saturday in the Hawthorne Place Apartments, in the 800 block of Concord Circle in the Kansas City suburb of Independence, according to a statement from Independence Police.
The driver of a 2017 Cadillac XT5 was backing out of a parking space and struck a 2-year-old juvenile who was on a scooter. EMS transported the juvenile a local hospital in critical condition and the child died. Police released no additional detaile.
