HUTCHINSON Kan. — Since 1982, the Dillon Lecture Series at Hutchinson Community College has provided distinguished and notable speakers that many in Hutchinson, Kansas and surrounding communities might not have the opportunity to experience. Three of those have been booked for the upcoming 2024 series thus far.

"We have, to date, booked Janelle Shane, who is an Artificial Intelligence expert, research scientist, very timely topic," said board chair Richard Shank. "Janelle will be here February 20, 2024. David Grann will be here April 16, 2024, author of Killers of the Flower Moon: An American Crime and the Birth of the FBI, and another one that I really look forward to Steven Ford, son of the late President Gerald Ford, will be here September 17, 2024."

The series is still actively seeking a fourth speaker for the upcoming season.

"We have a patron drive," Shank said. "This is our annual patron drive at the Dillon Lecture Series and it's the most inexpensive entertainment in Huttchinson, is what I like to say and we have a special deal. If you renew or purchase a patron individual membership between now and Dec. 1, it's only $135 for what will probably be four lectures, like $37.50 luncheon with the speaker and an opportunity to ask questions of the speaker. After Dec. 1, the fee will go to $150."

All lectures are held in the Hutchinson Sports Arena beginning at 10:30 a.m. and last one hour.
