
MCPHERSON, Kan. — According to preliminary numbers from the McPherson County Clerk's Office provided by USD 418, their bond issue failed on Tuesday.
The bond request was for $88,515,000. This is the second bond issue in a row to fail in USD 418.
A mill levy is the "tax rate" that is applied to the assessed value of a property. One mill is one dollar per $1,000 dollars of assessed value.
The current USD 418 mill levy is 51.4. The mill levy in that district would have increased to 62.5 (an increase of 11.1 mills). For a $200,000 home, this increase equals $21.28 per month.
