HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Sarah Diamond with Downtown Hutch let Hutch Post know that Santa will be downtown on Saturday as part of the first ever lighted Christmas parade in Hutchinson.
"In addition to the first time being a nighttime lighted parade, we also have a Santa shed," Diamond said. "It's going to be located in DCI Park and we will have Santa visits from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. this Saturday."
There will also be other ways to stay warm while you watch the parade.
"We will have hot chocolate," Diamond said. "We will have a stand with glow sticks. There will be hot chocolate and coffee stands set out throughout various locations downtown along the parade route."
The parade starts at 6 p.m. and will run north from Ave. B to 7th.
"Pedestrian only traffic will be from Avenue B to 3rd," Diamond said. "That's where a lot of the activities are going to be held. We want to be sure to keep people safe, especially with this being our first year of the nighttime lighted parade."
They'll close the streets a couple of hours ahead of the parade, so you'll need to put your seating out as soon after that as possible to get the best view unobstructed by vehicles.
