Michael R. “Mike” Keen, 79, of Hutchinson, died September 7, 2026, surrounded by his family at home. He was born January 13, 1947, in Orange County, CA.

Mike graduated from Lebanon High School in 1965; he also played for the school’s football and baseball teams. In April 1969, he married Linda Walline, in Beloit. Together they raised their children, Kelly and Chris. They later divorced. On July 7, 1983, Mike married Pattie Jo Mendoza, in Hutchinson. They shared over 43 years of marriage. Mike managed the mobile home park south of Hutchinson and was owner and operator of Mike’s Mobile Home Service. He later worked at Hutchinson Correctional Facility as an officer for over 23 years. Mike enjoyed participating in tractor pulling and won first place at the Kansas State fair in the late 1980s. He liked to go camping, fishing, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, and to tinker and fix things. Most of all, Mike loved to spend time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a faithful member Temple Baptist Church, Hutchinson.

Mike is survived by: his wife, Pattie Keen of Hutchinson; children, Kelly (Dan) McQueen of Loveland, CO, Chris Keen of Arkansas City, Jennifer Keen of Hutchinson, Stephanie (Rob) DiAmbrosio of Wellsboro, PA; grandchildren, Brennan Gordon, Sophia and Miles Keen, Izabella, Jackson and Devin DiAmbrosio, Jensen Keen and Ruby Keen; and great-granddaughter, Gwen Gordon.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Duane Edward Keen and Norma Jean Farrens; and siblings, Victoria Keen, Camille Keen, Teresa Keen and Kevin Keen.

Celebration of life will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2026, at Elliott Mortuary with Dr. John Wolf officiating. Private family burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may sign his book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
