KANSAS CITY —A Johnson County Community College Police Department officer faces charges in connection with an alleged 2024 sexual assault.
Rodrigo A. Sanchez-Flores, 27, is charged with 1st Degree Rape and 1st Degree Sodomy, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson.
According to court records, Kansas City police responded to a disturbance call on September 29, 2024, and spoke with the victim, who reported the Sanchez-Flores had sexually assaulted her in his vehicle.
Court records indicate that witness accounts and surveillance footage show the victim was too intoxicated to consent. She told officers she did not remember leaving the club with Sanchez-Flores and later woke up in his vehicle. A SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Exam) exam identified the presence of male DNA, and subsequent DNA analysis found very strong support that Sanchez-Flores was a contributor of the recovered DNA.
A Jackson County judge set his bond to $100,000 cash only.
