HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson USD 308 Superintendent Dr. Dawn Johnson reminded the Board of Education at their meeting Monday night that the initial meeting of the steering committee was taking place.
"A lot of work putting that together," Johnson said. "We have about 45 to 48 community members and teachers on that, about 75 to 80% external and 20% internal."
The plan is for the Steering Committee to meet at the different buildings that are being considered for changes. The architect Schafer Johnson Cox Frey will give updates to that committee.
The process is expected to take about a year on the second Mondays of each month following the regular school board meeting.
Not enough members of the board will be at the steering committee meetings to make them fall under open meetings requirements.
