Darren Traver Killingsworth, 59, of Hutchinson, Kansas, died Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Medicalodge of Goddard in Goddard, Kansas.

He was born on July 14, 1965 in Hutchinson, the son of James and Betty Holmes Killingsworth. The family moved to East Moline, Illinois in 1973 where Darren was raised and graduated from East Moline High School in 1984. Darren and his parents returned to Hutchinson in 1985 where he continued to live.

Darren loved to work on cars, he enjoyed racing and was a daredevil. Most recently he had been a welder for the Lowen Corp. in Hutchinson.

Darren was very active in N.A., he had been a resident in Hutchinson at Oxford House’s Joaquin House. While there Darren accepted Christ as his Savior as he worked through sobriety. He relied on the brothers at the house to help him maintain his sobriety as well helping them to maintain theirs. Even though Darren had some regrets, he worked towards making amends.

Survivors include his sons James Killingsworth of Hutchinson, Brent Killingsworth of Wichita; step-children Brandon Antle and Jennifer Shaw both of Hutchinson; sisters Juna Keever and husband Jim of Hutchinson, Amy Sutcliffe and husband Jim of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and four grandchildren Phoenix Killingsworth, Christopher Blaine Harris, Carter Killingsworth, and Braydon Sohn.

No services are being planned at this time.
