Thomas Michael McClanahan, 56, passed away on November 30, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Tom was born on January 17, 1969, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Sharon Murphy.
Tom graduated from Fairfield High School in Langdon, Kansas, and later earned his associate degree in heating, air, and electrical engineering. He proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country and received an honorable discharge. Throughout his professional life, Tom worked in maintenance and ultimately served as a maintenance supervisor for Worcester in Wichita.
Tom was a lifelong lover of music. He played guitar for his church band, sharing his talent, spirit, and joy through every note. He also had a deep love for animals and cherished spending time with his faithful dog, Luke. His sense of humor, laughter, and lighthearted nature made him loved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon, and his sister, Patty.
Tom is survived by his son, Tyler McClanahan; daughter, Brianna McClanahan; sister, Sherri Holman; and his cherished grandchildren; Syona Hamilton, Emmanuel McClanahan, and Dennis McClanahan.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2025, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, Kansas.
