
Carl G. Hobbs, 74, of South Hutchinson, died April 8, 2023, at his home. He was born March 24, 1949, in Hutchinson, to Dale C. and Mary A. (Wilson) Hobbs.
Carl graduated from Nickerson High School in 1967. He owned and operated Carl’s Meat Market in Nickerson for over 20 years. Carl drove a school bus for Nickerson USD 309 for five years until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and spending time with his grandkids.
Carl attended Nickerson United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Nickerson Masonic Lodge #43, and the Nickerson Order of the Eastern Star.
On July 19, 1966, he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Mary Glandorf, in Enid, OK. They shared over 56 years of marriage before he passed.
Carl is survived by: wife, Mary Hobbs, South Hutchinson; daughters, Paula Fisher, Hutchinson; and Cindy (Tim) Adams, Houston, TX; grandchildren, Jake Adams, Kansas City, MO, Ryan Adams, Buffalo, NY, and Katie Fisher, Wichita, KS; and siblings, Susan (John) Griffith, Hutchinson, and Brian Hobbs, Plano, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son-in-law, Glenn Fisher.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Larry Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Chapel.
