Evelyn ‘Eve’ Marie Rude, 62, died September 8, 2023, at her home in Arlington. She was born November 8, 1960, in Salina, to Don Knox and Mary (Jones) Knox.
Eve attended Salina Central North High School and shortly after graduation, she joined the United Sates Marine Corps. After serving her country, Eve became a homemaker, dedicating her time to her family.
Eve enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, taking naps and playing her piano. In addition, she fostered children for many years and cared very well for every one of them.
On July 28, 1980, she married Steven Lee Rude, in Havelock, NC. He survives.
Also surviving are: children, Steven Clark, Casie Rude, Starla Rude, Joshua Rude, Samuel Loomis; grandchildren, Ashlyn Lahman, Makayla ‘KK’ and Joseph ‘JJ’ Batemon Jr., Aurora McClintic, Renesmae Wright, Julien Wright, Kade Lee Weston Rude; 9 brothers; and 4 sisters.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Mary and John Knox; step-fathers, Harold Emire and Kenneth Knox; grandparents, Vernie and Charles Jones; sister, Kristina Hewitt; aunt, Shirley Knox; uncle, Charles A. Jones; father-in-law, Lee Rude; nephew, Kyle Smith; and cousin, John Knox.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Journey Mennonite Church, 808 S Poplar St, South Hutchinson. Military Honor will be conducted by the United States Marine Corps. Friends may sign her book 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
